Chapter 74: CASSIE

I felt tears run down my face. How could he, this, more than anything, showed me that he really didn't care anymore. I'd been right in the middle of telling him about my friend going missing and how scary it was.

He'd made all the appropriate noises and had even seemed genuinely interested, until the phone rang.

I knew he was lying to mom, knew he was heading to see that tramp. That's why I snuck out of the house that night and followed him.

I didn't know what exactly I was going to do, but I couldn't just stand by any longer.

I waited outside that hotel for what seemed like hours. I had lied to mom while he was upstairs and told her I had a headache and was going to bed so that she wouldn't disturb me.
