Chapter Fifty Six
Pulling away Elaina looked into Chase's eyes catching the slight reflection of a white haired creature with red eyes and black wings springing forth from her back. Confused she looked closer realizing that she was looking at herself.
"Do I scare you?" Elaina asked Chase after seeing herself. "Am I scary?"
"Of course not." Chase responded touching Elaina's cheek. "You could never be scary."
Elaina nodded slowly as she turned her attention to the light warriors who had stepped forward ready to attack her. Narrowing her gaze she took in their determined gazes in annoyance, even if Chase wasn't afraid of her they clearly were.
"I scare them." Elaina said now nodding towards the warriors.
Looking over Chase quickly pulled Elaina behind him. "She isn't your enemy!" He called blocking her from view.

Around her the light warriors stopped what they were doing and quickly moved away while the dark warriors remained in place convinced that they could easily take Elaina out."Get the monster!" The next day came in a blaze of red and orange, the sky above had completely lost its blue hue and was left with a red tint as if reflecting all the blood that was being spilt around them. Looking up Elaina squinted her eyes as she spotted what looked like ash beginning to fall."Ash storm?" She murmured holding out a hand and allowing some of the grey substance to land on her palm. "The end is getting nearer."Beside her Chase sucked in a harsh breath, "What did you say?""When the sky turns red and ash begins to fall to the earth, the dark lord will take his rightful place, and the whole world will be rebuilt in chaos." Elaina recited. "Ash is beginning to fall, the sky has turned red, and the earth has begun to break apart. We are running out of time.""Did Ezra give you any advice on what to do?" "Do you truly think you can defeat me?" Rathial laughed as Elaina lunged at him with her trident."Don't underestimate me, you owe me three lives." Elaina growled as a blue ball of energy shot from the end of the trident slamming into Rathial's chest. The crowd gathered around Elaina had grown immensely and had backed her into a wall. Keeping her expression calm she stared ahead waiting to see exactly what these people intended to do to her."You shouldn't look so cocky still monster." Samantha lectured as she worked on patching up Elaina's more severe wounds.As Elaina had insisted earlier most had begun to heal already, at least the ones that weren't so bad. "What's going on?" Christopher asked as Elaina and Chase entered the room. He had been lounging on his bed reading through a book on mythical creatures when they arrived. Elaina woke earlier than Chase the next morning. Sounds of people beginning their day could be heard just out in the hallway as she quickly searched for her clothes. After Chase had fallen asleep the night before, Elaina had made a decision and now she planned on setting that choice into action. Fully dressed she looked to Chase once more before quickly rushing out of the room.As Elaina made her way through the bunkard she ignored the glares that she recieved from the few warriors that were roaming about. Their looks of disgust and distrust no longer mattered to her, after all she was leaving this place anyway.Waving she quickened her pace and hurried up the stairs and out into the open air beyond.The sky remained a bloody red above as ash had begun to fall. Taking in the scene Elaina strengthened her resolve. She was no longer going to wait around for Rathial to come to her, instead she was going to go to him.

Rathial snarled at Elaina as she began to move towards him. Behind her lay a pile of dead dark warriors that hadn't been able to hold their own against the infuriated Elaina."So glad to see you coward." Elaina beamed as she continued moving forward. "Thought you'd be safe hiding down here did you?"Feeling her rage building Elaina lunged at Rathial slashing her sword towards his chest. Easily dodging Rathial cackled as Elaina righted herself ready for the next attack."What do you expect to do letting your anger get the best of you?" Rathial taunted. "You came here looking to easily die didn't you."Snapping his fingers he tried to use his power against Elaina, but it didn't work. With her human self gone she was now immune to any and all dark powers, after all she was amongst the dark herself now."That trick won't work on me this time."
