Emerald
I successfully avoided the twins for two days after the meeting. I knew as soon as they walked in that they were my mates. I immediately started to freak out internally. I saw grandpa Sam look at me, but I ignored him. Rich said something, but I violently shook my head to stop him from finishing his sentence. This could not be happening. I could feel them staring at me once everyone else sat down. I was able to keep myself from looking at them for most of the meeting. When I finally did, my heart stopped. I thought they were cute when I was 13, but now they looked like reincarnated Greek gods. Nate stood up, and shit, he had to be at least a foot and a half taller than me now. They both still had their wavy sun-kissed blonde hair and bright pale sapphire blue eyes. Devon smiled at me, and I gave him a soft smile, but it dropped as I turned back to face Alpha Jason, who was talking.
“Emerald are you in there?” Grandpa Sam asks.
The knocking at my door brought me out of my thoughts. I sighed and walked over to the door opening it. I smiled at him and gave him a hug. He and grandpa Marcel were a few of the family members that actually accepted me.
“What’s up? I ask.
“I want to talk to you about your mates.” He said.
“Oh, there is really nothing to talk about. I know they are going to reject me.” I tell him.
“Emerald, they asked about you after you left the meeting. We explained to them what you have been through.” He adds.
“I am so glad to hear that my life is the main topic of discussion, I really don’t need anyone’s pity,” I grumble.
I hear him let out a sigh. I really don’t need them to know how awful my own family has treated me. I sure as hell don’t need anyone feeling sorry for me, nor do I want their pity.
“They don’t pity you. Gamma Steven was the one to figure it out. His own mate was treated the same way by her father. He recognized the signs. The luna asked the twins if they are going to reject you.” He tells me.
I really don’t want to hear the answer to that. I stand up and walk toward the bathroom. I am sure he knows what I am up to.
“The twins were very offended that their own mother asked them that. Absolutely not, she was chosen for us for a reason. She is our as we are hers, was Nate’s response. Devon agreed wholeheartedly with him.” He adds.
I stop walking and standstill. I was not expecting that answer from either of the twins. I honestly don’t know what to say.
“Emerald, give those boys a chance. I fully believe that they will be good to you and for you.” He tells me.
He wraps his arms around me, and I bury my head in his chest and cry. No one besides a very few of my family members has wanted me. I just can’t believe two alphas would want me. They can do so much better. He asks if I will give them a chance, and I tell him that I will try. He smiles at me and then leaves to go to his room.
It’s been two days since both of my grandpas left. I decided to stick around and see what might happen between the twins and me. Rich and Helm are still here. I was surprised that they stayed, but Helm told me about their deal. I was surprised and happy that they were staying. I feel more comfortable here with them. I did go to town with the twins when Nate asked me a few days ago. I was surprised when he asked, but I ended up having fun with them. We have hung out a few times since then; both of them have been sweet and flirtatious. One girl named Kari flirts with them and hangs around them all the time. She has been nice to me, but I can tell she wants them. She is everything I am not. She is 4 - 5 inches taller than me with long beautiful platinum blonde hair and the prettiest silver-blue eyes.
“Hi there, your Emerald right?” A guy asks me.
“Yes,” I tell him.
I have seen him hang around with Leena and the twins. He seems to be friends with them. I did notice that Devon and Nate don’t like when he is around.
“My name is Scott. I am friends with Leena and I have known the twins since they were little. They are also my friends.” He tells me.
“That’s cool. What can I help you with?” I ask.
“I just wanted to let you know that the twins are just using you. They already have a mate and they are going to announce and mark her at the luna ceremony this Friday.” He says.
I stand there staring at him. I really don’t want to believe him, but he pulls out his phone and shows me a video of him, the twins, and two other guys talking. The truth is right in my face, and I can hear it clear as day. I hear them tell the others that they don’t want me. That I will never be pretty or thin enough for them.
“Thank you for telling and showing me this,” I say quietly.
“I am sorry you had to find out this way. I thought you should know the truth.” He says with a sad smile.
I tell him that it is alright. It’s not, but it’s not like I haven’t heard it before. I head up to my room to pack. I have to leave as soon as possible. I knew it was a mistake for me to stay here. I pack my bag and place it by the door. I can’t leave at this moment. I hear Lyra tell everyone that it is dinner time. I head down and take a seat between the twins. I need everyone to think that everything is normal. I don’t want anyone to be suspicious. I do make sure there is more distance between the twins and me. As soon as dinner was over, I ran upstairs. I wanted away from them.
“I know something is wrong. Now tell me what has you so upset.” Rich says.
“It’s nothing that I wasn’t expecting. Please I am tired and I want to go to sleep.” I tell him.
He gets up off my bed and leaves the room. I hear a knock on the door, knowing it is one of the twins. I can smell their eucalyptus and ocean scents.
“Kitten please open the door and talk to us,” Devon says.
I ignore them and shut the bathroom door behind me. I turn on the shower and strip my clothes off. I step in and shut the door to the shower. I slide down the wall and pull my knees up to my chest. The tears start falling, and I lay my head on my knees. I should have known they wouldn’t want me. No one does. I think I will head back to the Mediterranean area. At least I was happy there. I might be lonely, but at least I will be in a place that will make me happy.
Scott I knew that if anyone found out that I had told Emerald what I told her, I would be thrown into the dungeon. I really don’t care. This had been our plan all along once we realized who she was. I had been talking with my cousin Ryder, and he told me about the girl his father had been looking for for years. Ryder had become his pack's alpha after his father died when he was 17. He is now 24. I was there when my Uncle Connor died. He had been searching for this girl since she was born. I knew Emerald was different and special when I first saw her. I knew immediately that she was the twin’s mate. They acted way too protective over her for her not to mean something to them. “Well did you show her the video and tell her what you know?” Ryder asked. “Yes, I told her that they are my friends and then showed her the video. She held it together well, but you could tell that it broke her.” I tell him. I actually felt bad doing this, and so did Ryder. We needed her off t
Helm Emerald was not present at breakfast this morning. I instantly got a back feeling in my gut. I could tell she was upset last night at dinner. She sat between the twins but kept her distance and wouldn’t touch them. I know that Rich went to her room and tried to talk to her. I also know that he didn’t get anywhere with that conversation. It was now almost noon, and I still had not seen Emerald. The twins and their father were not present at breakfast. They were in a meeting because some of the patrols also found rogue prints and picked up their scent. “Have you seen Emerald?” Lyra asks. “No, have you?” I ask. “No, and she was not in her room when I went to check on her.” Lyra states. “Her bag wasn’t there either,” Leena adds. I look over at Rich and see a concerned look on his face. Her bag is gone, which means she has left. I hear footsteps coming down the stairs, which means the meeting is over. The next part of this conversation is not going to go well.
Devon I have never been this scared in my life. All I want is to find Scott and kill him for telling Emerald all that shit and showing her that video. It has been six hours since I got here, and she is still sleeping. The doctor was in here checking on her about half an hour ago, and it appears that she is starting to heal. I am not sure what made her stop fighting herself long enough to let herself heal. She is not healing as fast as I or any other wolf would, but she is healing faster than a human. I think the fact that there is nothing I can do is what pisses me off even more. “I want her to wake up,” Nate says. “I do too, brother,” I reply. The two of us had not left her side since we got here. We have been sitting here on each side of her the whole time. I stand up because my back is starting to hurt from leaning against the top of the bed. I am also starving. I can hear Nate's stomach let out a very loud growl. We decide to go get something to eat. We walk out i
Emerald I remember Scott telling me what the twins had said and what they were going to do. I also remember the video. I left the next morning before breakfast. I headed to the waterfall and to my cave. I sat there for a few hours, just crying and trying to figure out why my life was so damn shitty. I couldn’t understand what I had done to deserve everything that had happened to me. I must have done something to make everyone not want or love me. I knew both my grandfathers loved me, and Rich and Helm also loved me. Both the fae and werecat kingdoms accepted me, but the rest of my family and my mates didn’t want me. I started walking towards town. “Well, what do we have here?” A man's voice asked. I looked up, and there stood three rogues. Two were already in wolf form, and one was in his human form. I watched as the one shifted, and I thought about fighting, but then I just closed my eyes and stood there. I knew they would attack me, and I figured this was my chance to
Alpha Jason When Emerald first arrived, I was shocked to see how much she had changed since the last time I saw her. Gone was the little girl and now, standing in front of me, was a beautiful woman. As soon as my sons walked in, I could tell they knew she was there. I knew they had caught her scent. Renee and I had both had a sneaking suspicion that the three of them were mates even back when they were 13. I was not expecting her to fight the bond as she did. I knew she had been treated terribly by that side of her family. I never realized how much damage they had done by telling her all those lies. “I am glad she is starting to trust the boys,” I told Renee. “I think they will be fine.” She says. I thought everything was going well until Tyler’s dad, my beta, sent me a mind link to rush over to the pack hospital. Renee and I hurried over there. I was horrified when I saw Emerald lying in that bed. When he told me what had happened, I was pissed and confused. I know
Vaccaro “My lord I have heard the most interesting bit of information.” My second says. “And what might that be?” I ask. “A girl, whose parents are the late Princess Cyreena and Prince Tyrone.” He answers. Well, I have to admit that this does pique my interest. If this is true, then this girl is very powerful. Both of her parents are direct descendants of their goddesses. I need to find out if this is true. “Find out if what you heard is true. Then find me the girl.” I tell him. “Yes, my King.” He replies. I know Sebastian will find out everything I wish to know. That is why he is my second. Well, this is the first good thing I have heard in a while. If this is true and this girl exists, then I need to make her my queen. With her by my side, I would be the most powerful supernatural in existence. I could rule over all of them. I head to my office to see if I can find out some information on my own. Sebastian, Trystan, and I met in my office the next day. After Tr
Nate It has been two weeks since the meeting and Emerald coming back. She has fully healed and seems to be back to normal. Things have gotten better between us but her insecurities still surface every now and then. Take today for instance she is not anywhere in the packhouse. Fuck neither Devon nor I can even find her scent outside the packhouse. “What did you two do now?” Leena asks. “We have no idea,” I replied. It’s the truth. We were all sitting down in the entertainment room relaxing. The weather has been shit the last two days. It has been raining on and off. Devon and I were waiting for Emerald to come down from our room. We made her move into our room after the rogue attack. I know she told us that she hasn’t had any nightmares. Those first couple of nights she was very shy. I could tell she had never slept in the same bed as someone and she was scared too. I can tell you that the first morning waking up with her in my arms and her head buried in Devon’s neck
Marcel I would love to say I was surprised that Emerald had tried to run again after seeing something that she took the wrong way, but I wasn’t. I knew those two boys would have a hard time convincing her they were different. I truly think she wants to give this a chance, but everything that has been told to her pops into the front of her brain, and it overrides her rational thinking. I was surprised by Nate’s question about a spell being placed on her. Nalena was right about Emerald being too powerful for them to cast a spell on her. “So she really heard voices at times?” I ask. “Yes, she told me that when Scott had told her all that shit and then showed her the video she could hear her aunt’s voice in her head telling her that she was right and that Emerald was never going to be happy,” Nate explains. Nalena is standing beside me, and I can see the wheels in her head spinning. I wonder if she has any clues as to why Emerald hears things. I see Nalena glance at Draven a few
