Chapter Twenty-Seven

Tears of devastation built up inside of Edwin, but he forced them back.  He caught a glimpse of Linda being led from the garage as he peered over his shoulder at Tim’s limp body.  Were they going to remove his friend as well?

“What’s he doing with Tim?” Edwin frantically asked as the vampire who killed Tim bent down over him.  His stomach churned as he asked the question because he wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answer.

“We don’t waste fresh blood,” Seth said with a casual smile.

 “Oh god,” Edwin groaned as his legs failed him and he submitted to being dragged at rapid speed through the darkness like freshly killed game.

“His death was merciful,” Seth sneered.  “You won’t be so lucky.”
