"By the way, I just wanted to let you know that we didn't beg those boys to come with us," Cristine said sweetly, a trace of mocking in her voice. "Why don't you invite them to join you for a meal?" “Maybe they'll say yes," Cristine's tune was tinged with schadenfreude; she sounded like she was digging a hole for someone.
