Chapter Eighty

Rueben led me into the grand throne room. I could feel the tension in the air. The queen, Rueben's mother, sat on the throne, her face contorted with anger. Her eyes locked onto me, and I could see the disappointment and disapproval in her gaze.

"Rueben, how dare you bring her back here!" the queen exclaimed, her voice filled with venom. "After everything she's done, you still choose to be with her?"
