The upcoming car slammed on its brakes, its tires screeching against the pavement as it skidded to a halt just inches away from Camilla.

Edward found himself in a moment where everything around him seemed to freeze, his heart racing within his chest.

Meanwhile, with a jolt from the sudden stop of the car in front of her, Camilla regained some sobriety, and Alexander hurried to her side.

Visibly shaken, the driver of the car emerged from the vehicle, his face displaying deep concern.

"I'm so sorry... I didn't see her in time. Please, I'm truly sorry," he stammered, his gaze anxiously shifting between the three of them.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Alexander locked his eyes on the man and nodded, "It's okay... Thank goodness she's alright." His voice was filled with a mixture of gratitude and lingering fear.

Relieved, the driver acknowledged the nod, slowly retreating into his car and driving away at a noticeably slower pace, still visibly shaken by the near accident.
