Toby’s POVWalking away from Rae is the hardest thing that I have done. But I know that it is for the best. I asked my warriors to take her home. It was the only way that I could have peace of mind. Rae’s POVI am sitting and waiting for Mama to come home. I don’t why but I feet really guilty for just the brief moment of a kiss. I sigh. Maybe it’s because I am afraid that my relationship with my friend is going to change. Then again, I wasn’t really a good friend anyway. Chris’s POV Sighing, I look at all the papers in front of me. So much work goes into being the King. The stack of work is high but the thing that sits on my mind the most is the murders. There is absolutely no evidence of who is responsible. Toby is gone but he left his warriors to help keep Rae safe as well as help investigate the murders. I’m still unsure about the connection but he seems a bit possessive of her. I feel sorrow at that thought. I will forever regret what I’ve done to Rae in the past. It was necessary thought. A few Weeks LaterToby’s POVTraining is going well but I can’t keep my mind off what is going on at home. My warriors assure me that everything has been quiet for the last few weeks. However, I just want to get home. This is going to be the longest year of my life.Apparently, Rae and Chris mended fences and they are getting along as though nothing ever broke them apart. My warriors tell me that Alrich has gone into fits of jealousy but he’s not done anything to harm anyone.There are still no clues to who murdered those girls but, so far, there hasn’t been any murders. Toby’s POV I walk in to this building on the rich side of downtown. Ryan drove us here in his limousine, which I really enjoyed. It was completely different than the horse carriages that we have at home. We were able to walk right in as it’s Ryan’s fathers club. The way things are so different here, than home, I do feel a little backwards. I’m not going to admit that though. The music is loud and booming. It takes a minute before my ears get used to the loudness. The smell is a lot harder to control. It smells of alcohol, sex, and strong perfumes. I stop to allow myself to get used to the smell. I take deep breaths, and try not to gag, while Ryan pats me on the back. “I’m sorry. I forget how overwhelming this can be. Come, I’ll take you to the private lounge. It’ll be better. Rae’s POVThe sun is bright, and beautiful, today. The wind gently blowing keeps me cool as I walk towards the palace. Chris has asked me to join him for the afternoon and I am a bundle of nerves. It’s been a few weeks since I have heard from Toby and I feel lonely without him. Even though Chris has made an effort to come and see me everyday, it still feels like I am missing something.I haven’t been to the palace, yet, though. What if he changes his mind?
