Chapter 79

Rae’s POV

The house is a buzz of activity. People, or should I say wolves, are flying around everywhere. The looks on most of their faces are pure joy. It warms my heart that most people accept me. The young teenagers seem to be excited about the party to come.

I’ve never been to too many parties, only Chris’s birthday parties and my own sixteenth birthday party. I shudder as that one was a disaster. We still don’t know who, or what, killed all those people. My mind wanders to the possibility of something like this happening again.

“What’s are your mind, dearie?” Melinda says.

“Oh, I was thinking about my birthday.” I shudder. “What do you think is going to happen tonight?”

“Are you worried that it would end up the same?” She asks, placing her palms on my face.

“Doesn’t it seem odd to you?” I ask. “That nothing has happened in a year? I feel like I am always waiting for something to happen. Even when I do forget for a little bit, it sits in the back of my mind. And, I.” I freeze
