I arrived in Germany, and I was so excited. Something only my family knows about, my Grandparents on my mother’s side are from Germany. They moved to America right before World War II with their parents. Apparently, they were neighbors, and had decided to flee Germany together. As I walk down the street, I inhale the smells around me. I smell freshly brewed beer, sausages and sizzling in a restaurant somewhere accompanied by the divine smell of sauerkraut. I woke up to the sound of hushed voices, I opened my eyes to find my uncle Fredrick, my supposed real father, and both of my adoptive parents outside of the door of the bedroom I was laying in. I was shocked to find my mother and father here. Did they know about me all along? Did they know who or what I already was?
