Did I already say I hate new schools?

From time to time I pulled down my jacket, trying to cover up the tight blouse. Aina smiled contentedly. We entered the class together. As expected, everyone tried to hide their eyes, pretending that I did not exist. However, the silence that settled in the office for a couple of minutes spoke of the opposite. Despite Aina's objections, I took the very last desk in the corner of the class in order to completely hide from prying eyes. And only after that did I furtively look around to find out with whom I would study. And here's another oddity - there were only girls in the class. Well, where are the guys promised by Aina? Just worried for nothing. However, it didn't get any easier. Viola sat behind the first desk. You must be lucky to be in the same class. She only threw a look of contempt in my direction once and continued to discuss her fashionable bag (apparently new) with the girls. They nodded obsequiously to her. Typical sixes.

The teacher came in and outright torture began for me. I struggled to understand the topic of the lesson, but soon gave up this useless exercise. Apparently, the education at this school was also far ahead of the program of ordinary plebeian schools, which I attended before.

I opened my eyes and noticed that everyone was looking at me, and there was dead silence in the classroom. Damn, fell asleep! My heart pounded with the realization that even the teacher was staring with an expectant, unkind look.

- I asked you a question, Alicia!

I sent an SOS signal to Aina with my eyes. She shook her head in sympathy.

- I'm sorry ... - I mumbled, realizing that I failed on the first day, and there was nowhere to wait for help.

- I know that it is very difficult for you now, - the teacher turned on the pedagogical tone, - but you need to join the educational process as soon as possible, otherwise you will quickly fall behind.

I'm already far behind. Maybe just go to school?

The teacher smiled at Viola and repeated his question. And, of course, the blond bitch easily minted out the answer and measured me with a victorious look.

The lessons are over. Aina ran up to me and patted my shoulder.

- Nothing, you still catch up. I've been studying here since the very beginning and I don't understand half of it either.

This information did not reassure me in any way. Viola walked past my desk and hissed through her teeth so that everyone in the class could hear:

- The lot of stupid people - to sleep on the last desk.

I choked with indignation. Maybe for everyone she is a local queen, but not for me for sure. I jumped up from my seat and blocked her path.

- What did she say?

- She's also deaf. It will be hard for you, poor thing, - her impudent grin was the last straw.

In a second, she was already lying on the floor, overturned by a deft trick. I know that I violated the principles of aikido by attacking first. But in this case, I qualified my attack as self-defense. Viola quickly came to her senses and in a moment was on her feet. Unexpectedly for an ordinary girl, she turned out to be quite strong. Her eyes filled with rage and began to turn strangely yellow. I blinked to get rid of the glitch. The girls frightenedly ran up to their queen, and on the other hand, Aina pulled me by the sleeve of her jacket. From the sudden movement, the clothes moved out, exposing my shoulder. Suddenly, everyone froze, as if someone had stopped time. The students were definitely looking at my shoulder. I suddenly remembered the two small scars and hurriedly straightened my jacket.

- Fox, Lisa! Let's get out of here, - Aina was afraid.

We left the classroom and hid in the toilet. I looked at myself in the mirror. Huge blue eyes stared at me. They burned brightly from the adrenaline running through the veins. Hands trembled. Fell asleep in class, got into a fight with a student. My first day was a success. I sighed and began to straighten the strands that had come out of the braid.

- Liis, - Aina's voice was still trembling, - I was so afraid that she would tear you to shreds. Don't ever do that again!

- Do you think I'm scared? I took a deep breath in and out, trying to calm down.

- Fox! Please! Promise me.

- Fine, but only until she hits me again. After all, I didn’t do anything to her to behave like that. Tell me, did I offend her with something?

Aina hesitated. She definitely knew something.

- Would you like to go to the library with me? Before dinner, we have a little time, - my new friend smiled conciliatoryly.

I was not even surprised when I saw a huge spacious room up to the ceilings lined with bookshelves. Here, probably, all rare copies of books were collected. Aina disappeared into the depths of the library, promising that it would not be long. I slowly walked between the rows of shelves, studying their contents. Mom would love it here. She loved to read so much. I leaned against the bookshelf, trying to swallow a tear that rose up in my throat. In the silence, I heard a whisper. Someone argued quietly. Boy and girl. I went to the sound. The voices became clearer.

Guy:

- It's over, you know it was one time. She's here.

Young woman:

- But I thought...

- In vain. It was not worth inventing something that does not exist.

- It's because of the mark, right?!

- In and! Don't be stupid! You know how things are.

But will you punish her?

I reached a far corner. The picture I saw made me want to laugh. Viola clung to the guy with her claws, obsequiously licking him with her eyes, and tried to snatch a kiss. She looked pitiful. I couldn't help but smirk and immediately regretted it. The guy turned and looked straight at me. Zark! Looks like the day's adventures aren't over yet. Aina fluttered out from somewhere to the side, and, noticing what exactly attracted my attention, she turned deathly pale. She grabbed my arm and briskly dragged me out of the library.

In front of the door to the dining room, we were finally able to catch our breath.

- Pretend you didn't see it, okay? Aina folded her arms across her chest pleadingly.

Ha! It hurts to get into the miserable relationships of those who interest me the least in this school. I shrugged my shoulders and pushed open the door.

Aina was almost right. As soon as we entered the dining room, all the guys furtively began to study me, although no one openly turned their heads. Only one friendly look I grabbed from the crowd of guys. Toby, smiling happily, waved his hand. I nodded my head at him and smiled kindly. Desperately trying not to blush, she walked with Aina to her table. A fully served dinner was waiting for us there. “The service here is just top notch,” I mentally noted.

- Aina, listen, I wanted to drop by Director Rice, can you see me out after dinner? I don't want to run into Viola alone. I'm afraid I can't help it - we were already eating a chic dessert when I remembered that I wanted to know at least something about my father.

- Oh sure! - she has already visibly cheered up after the collision in the library.

True, her joy evaporated in the next second. Following my friend's gaze, I realized why the dining room suddenly became quiet. Zark stood at the door. He slowly looked around the room until he bumped into me. Zark moved between the tables with an imperious, masterly gait. The disciples nodded slightly as he passed by. Me too, king! Zark didn't take his eyes off me. Aina became whiter with every step he took. What kind of bad luck?! Is he heading here? Aina nodded and looked down into the vase, automatically picking the contents with her silver spoon. I calmly continued to finish my dessert.

- Let's go to Rice, - Zark loomed over me.

Looks like his girlfriend had time to complain about the fight.

“I haven’t eaten yet,” I looked at the guy with a mockingly naive look and batted my eyelashes.

I was counting on anything - get angry, leave, be rude - but I almost choked when he calmly pushed back his chair and sat down, lounging and stretching his legs. He crossed his arms over his chest and stared at me with those murderous chocolate eyes. It was read in his grin: nothing, I'll wait. She felt heat rise to her cheeks. I lost again.

Under the curious glances of the students, I wandered after Zark, feeling like a lamb being led to the slaughter. Everyone in the dining room began to whisper. Obviously they have already composed some kind of school bike.

The same story happened in the corridor - everyone nodded to Zark, and behind our backs they began to whisper. They won't think I'm chasing Zarq, will they? Hell, I can't stand it if there's gossip about our "love triangle." Well no, nonsense! It takes a sick imagination to come up with something like this. I almost convinced myself that everything is fine. I calmed down early: suddenly Zark, almost at the director's office, turned around and pushed me against the wall. He quickly pulled back the collar of his jacket and leaned over my neck. The guy stood so close that it looked like he was going to kiss me. My heart thumped loudly somewhere in my throat. He passed his hand over two small dots, and an electric shock pierced the skin. It got hot on my shoulder. Zarq moved away just as quickly and I barely kept my feet. At the end of the corridor, two students, forgetting about all fear, staring at us with open mouths. Well, wonderful! Tomorrow the school will be filled with incredible stories.
