CHAPTER 38

He didn’t say anything and just shrugged off his shoulder before gesturing his hand to show me where the door was. I rolled my eyes at his arrogance before leaving. However, on my way out, he followed me, and I snapped at him.

“Why are you following me around?” I asked him.

“Because my mother told me to take you to your room,” he replied.

“Okay,” I told him because what else should I tell him? I let him to guide me towards the guest room I would be occupying, but at the same time, I wished that Jacob was with me, as well as my daughter. For several days, I have been trying to contact the people from that orphanage but I couldn’t get though. The phone was busy and I couldn’t help but to feel uneasy about it.

I tried to visit the orphanage but my luck ran out, and as much as I wanted to see my daughter, I couldn’t take the risk of Jacob finding out about her. Then, I remembered his beta, Dale. Where was that guy again? I never heard anything about him since he left the house.
