STAY WITH ME

Sylvia grabbed two jars of freshly baked cookies and strode to the dining.

Shane dropped the coffee mugs and left to get the rest of the breakfast. Sylvia was about to head back to the kitchen when she saw Leonard descending the stairs with a tight gaze. She bowed and when she stared in the opposite direction, she saw Fred heading toward the dining.

She quickly left the scene.

A few minutes later, Sylvia arrived with the fruit basket. Fred and Leonard were settled while Shane was doling the cookies on the platters before them.

Sylvia realized that David was absent. He had always been the first to turn up at the table and was also the first to get up because he was always in a hurry to hit the office. She needed no one to inform her that his mother’s visit had messed up his mood that morning.

She made her way to the table with a silent sigh and dropped the basket.

“Did you speak to him?” Sylvia heard Leonard ask.
