CHAPTER THIRTY ONE: SINISTER PROMISE
My fingers were still quivering from the aftereffect of the adrenaline ebbing away in my veins. I was sitting in my huge queen sized bed, buried under silken sheets, trembling violently as the event that just occurred downstairs played in my head.
Never in my life have I seen such a terrifying display of power with such a devastating magnitude. I couldn't get over the fact that Solan's mate was dead. That countless other people were lying dead and blackened and shriveled up on the same marble floor, in the same hallway I have walked past a hundred times since I got here.
I had just started to see this place as home. I had just started to feel comfortable here - free, safe. But if such a horrifying evil could easily make it's way into Alexander's home, it meant that no one was safe. It also meant that Black Bane was stronger than we all gave them credit for.
Way stronger.
