“Why?”

That was the only word that made sense at the moment. The question mark to every thing that had gone wrong between us from the start.

Why did he reject me?

Why did he give Emilia his phone?

Why did he allow his father put a kill order on me?

Why did he mark and marry Emilia?

Why was he looking for me now?

Why did I still feel sparks with him after accepting his rejection?

Just why?

Tyler’s shoulder slumped, his eyes downcast, then he swallowed and met my gaze and all I could see was the shadow of a man I once loved. My anger flares up again.
