My mouth twisted in a humorless smile. I was disappointed with what I found out about Anne. I can't blame Alli for reacting this way. I knew what she wants to hear from me. And I also knew that she meant no harm. She wanted me to stay away from Anne for my own good.
Is it right to leave her because of her past? I'm sure that if Anne has a choice she wouldn't choose that kind of path. It was lonely and dangerous. But I couldn't dismiss their theory about her. They have proof to prove what they are accusing about her.
I am not trying to act like a saint, it's just that I wanted to give Anne a fair judgment.
