Tree House

I don't know if he is succeeding in getting into my head because it's all making sense now. It's like I'm suddenly involved in the story that only he knows because I seem to understand everything. Little by little, the answers came together in my mind.

"Where are we headed?"

I laughed at myself when he spoke after about an hour. Yes, we were walking in the cold for almost an hour. There is nowhere else to go but the place I know.

"Just trust me."

He didn't answer, so I looked at him. "And please, if we ever see that woman again, don't say anything so we don't have to encounter any more problems."

He kept his mouth closed, so I just sneered. We are in the middle of the forest; the longer our walk, the more difficult it becomes because the area is quite high.

We can hear each other in that forest, and I'm not even bothered. We are used to me coming here, just not at this critical time.
