I ignore her and walk back over to the black dry-cleaner bag and smile as I reach into the bottom and pull out matching red heels. I slip them on and then walk over to where Charmine is still standing at the door. As soon as I am next to her, she steps aside and growls,

“Randall says to be on your best behaviour or you know what will happen.”

I nod and walk with her down the hall, down the stairs and out the back. I place a small smile on my face and make my way over to the stage where Randall is already standing and making one of his many speeches for the night. However, as soon as he sees us, he stops talking and just stares. I glance over at Charmine and see the big smile spread over her face at his reaction.

However, this makes me feel a little guilty and a little smug as I know that look and that stare is not for Charmine but for me, it is the same look he has given me every time we have been out on a date and he has seen me in my dress for the night for the first time
