Chap-31*He Thinks I Lied*

Our mother stared at us for a minute before she tore off to escape Serena’s angry glare. It was saddening that she acted completely different than when in front of Serena.

Is that why I never saw anyone’s true colors? They always acted completely different from how they would act in front of Arlene. I shook my head as I felt guilty for being so dumb.

"Are you okay?" My sister’s voice was shaky and filled with agony: "I should have never put you in my bo---dy," I heard her let out a cry as she ran her fingers through my hair.

"I k---now what uncl---e Charles ha---d been doing to you?" I forced my weak body up from her lap and stuttered. She paused before she crawled away from me. It hurt my soul that she had to look down and fear my reaction when it wasn’t even her fault, to begin with.

"I --," she said, covering her mouth with her hands as if she was afraid to even talk about it.
