5:30pm ….

I pushed the door to my mother’s ward and walked in, I slowly walked towards the flower vase by the window, I took out the previous already withering flower and replaced it by the new ones I brought, I took a jar of water and filled it with it.

With a deep exhale, I turned around and walked towards her bed.

“Hi ma,” I whispered as I took my seat by her bed and pulled the chair closer to her bed, she looked like she was asleep, although her skin was still quite pale, but not as pale as before, doctors says she’s responding well to treatment and we should be expecting good news anytime soon.

I slowly raised my hands to her hair and patted it gently, I made up my mind to not cry again whenever I visit, she wouldn’t want me to cry over her head, there was nothing to cry about, I’m very sure that was what she would say.

“Remember our promise right?! You can’t leave me now,”

“You should wake up now mom,” I whispered patting her hair gently,
