Chapter #17

The Next thing, I know I was standing in the middle of a small bakery two blocks away from my aunt's house and I wonder why we came.

I turned around to see the bakers looked like a boy band on a vacation. They acted like it too, laughing, joking, and singing as they made the bread and delicacies for the day. Their white uniforms masked any flour that dusted on them and only their hands had that obvious covering of dust. When the baking was mostly done a couple of them would open the doors, letting the aroma of the baking waft out to the street and the customers flood in.

We finally reached the register where an old man was taking money from the customer.

" Mr, Wards, how are you doing today?" Emily asked him but he didn't even twitch or moved a single muscle on his face he just opened the small gate next to his counter to let us in.

" Come on, Aisling I'll show you around," Emily said and brought me to the back kitchen of the bakery.
