CHAPTER 16

Lily heard the door close after Mykel left. Finally, the pounding in her chest subsided. She was still in a towel, but she also wrapped herself in a blanket. She quickly got up and dressed. Then, she sat on the bed and operated her cell phone. The disappointment lingered, and Lily could not shake off the confusion about her own feelings. The text from Mykel's phone caught her attention.

"Sorry, Lily. Urgent business matter. I'll be back soon."

Lily could not understand why she felt giddy. It should be nothing to her because, as far as she knew, she did not have any feelings for her husband.

"Do I like him?" Lily questioned herself, letting out an exasperated sigh as she lay back.

"I should not like him. It is clear that we both just want revenge against Kevin," Lily reiterated to herself. After some time, she decided to call Allison to have someone to talk to. She laughed becaused Allison picked up on the first ring. For sure, Allison was waiting for her call.
