Chap 38: The unexpected.

I gradually got used to the rhythm of life here. It's a bit boring, but it makes me feel at peace.

This morning, at work, I received some news. An event company hired all the employees to come and cater for an upcoming party, which excited everyone. I heard the director re-communicate that this is a party held on a large scale, so the layout needs to be diverse. And they liked the design of the restaurant where I worked, so they hired us. All costs incurred are covered by that company.

"I haven't been back to New York in a long time. I don't know if anything has changed." A colleague of mine spoke up. "How did they know about our restaurant?"

"Ah, I post recent photos of the restaurant and Diana's posts on social media. The engagement is quite high."

I was startled when I heard them mention New York; every time I heard that name, my heart ached because that place was associated with my pain, especially with someone I once loved.
