Chapter 42- At All Costs

Royce Miller's POV

I was supposed to be flying on our private plane, but unfortunately, it wasn't available because it had not yet returned from Canada after my parents' flight the other day, so I had to take an airline at eight in the morning. Arthur drove me to the airport an hour before my flight and he left right away after I entered the airline's check-in area.

While waiting for the time, I took my cellphone from my pocket and started calling Vera. I'm sure she is already in META now because she usually comes early at work.

"Good morning babe, how are you? Are you okay?", I spoke with much concern in my voice.

"Yes babe, I'm fine. How about you? What time is your flight?", she asked.

"At eight. Uhm, by the way, please behave while I'm away okay?", I jested. Then I heard Vera's smirking voice.

"Uhuh...So what do you mean Mr. CEO?", she sounded like she was about to be pissed off. I chuckled because I could imagine what does she look like when she's getting annoyed.
