There was a long line of people at the cafe when Ruby got in. It was typical, it was lunch break and she had very much expected it. Nate’s company was located at one of the most industrialized cities in Oregon and most companies around had the same lunch break.

She quickly found an empty table before it got filled up. Nate in his now usual manner had sent flowers to her and left her a note, wishing her a great day. Everything about him left her amazed and she wanted him more. Esme had thought him old fashioned for writing a little note to her but Ruby had to admit to herself that it was one of the most romantic gestures she had received in her life, not that she had received many anyway.

His scent had lingered into the letter and she went about her day, sniffing the letter occasionally as she craved for his attention and his familiar sweet smell.
