“You realize that whatever you see is going to affect you right?” Grace asked as she cleared the breakfast table

Nate had gone to bed the previous day agitated, scared of what he was going to find in the news. The next morning, he had woken up with a start and was searching for any information that hinted at what Ruby said.

Adam had gone home that night so Grace offered to come over and be strong for him.

“I need to know the truth. Ruby is quite straightforward. If she is hiding something, that means it’s something huge and I’m scared of what it is”

Grace exhaled as she handed the plates over to Maria to take to the kitchen. In all her years, she had seen so many things and wasn’t unfazed by whatever they claimed Ruby had to hide. She was still convinced that Ruby was a sweet girl and no matter what happened, there was a reasonable explanation to it.
