Clara was glad Caiden wasn’t with her. He had warned her about Arthur’s feelings for her before.

Arthur’s romantic feelings towards her hadn’t been hard to notice. She had just elected to not comment on them to avoid making things tense between them.

Now he had put his feelings out into the open. She knew she had to honour his confession with an honest reply.

Did she like him as more than a friend?

Arthur had never made her heart flutter. She really couldn’t muster any feelings of love towards him. He was good looking and very kind to her, but she didn’t love him.

“Arthur,” she said and paused. “I don’t feel the same way as you.”

The hacker smiled gently and she saw a flicker of disappointment pass over his face. She felt a stab of guilt that she couldn’t make him happy by returning his feelings.

“I know you don’t,” he replied. “You’re easy to read. You don’t show any signs of love for anyone. I knew you don’t feel the same way. I just wanted to let my feelings out now
