Chapter Twenty-Five

STARING at the ceiling, waiting for who knows what, Angelo suddenly heard a knock on his door. He was pretty sure that everyone else was asleep — well, except for his next-door roomie.

Angelo was stunned when he suddenly remembered something. Roomie? Why does it feel like the thought of having a roommate hits him differently? It’s not like he ever had a roommate his entire life.

He was startled when there was another knock followed by the ringing of his phone. He stared at his phone for a long time, wondering if he would answer it. After the second ring, he then picked it up. "Nick?"

The one on the other line sighed. Why does he react that way? (Gab, open the door.) the man commanded after he recovered.

He suddenly looked at the door that had lost its knock. “You said we’ll have a short chat. Can't we just talk on the phone— ”
