Chapter 72: The Car Swap

King already made his choice. He was quite calm.

"Alistair, are you coming?"

It took a long time before he grunted out a yes. He looked at Joan, deep into her gaze. She smiled at him. He felt eternally grateful to her.

He turned back to his family.

"I'll come with you." King answered, "I'll take my girl and come with you."

The car ride to wherever the evil looking man was taking them was tense. The only thing keeping Joan calm was her heartthrob sitted beside her. They held hands. They were the only occupants of the car apart from the driver and a scary looking bodyguard. Alistair had said he had something important to discuss with his family. Victor, the big guy, had said he was going to follow them and so he trailed them in his car.
