It’s been a month since Maliyah fell into a coma and she has showed no signs of waking up. Davina has done her best to ensure she spends time with the twins, but if she is not with them she is by Maliyah’s side. It’s time we move forward with the funeral, we can’t wait any longer.

My mother walks in the nursery just as I am changing Accalia. Thierry is running around his little play area like a mad man. He’ll be able to climb that gated play yard soon.

“He is just like you when you were this age,” mom laughs as she scoops Thierry in her arms.

“I ran around like the road runner?”

“Yep. We couldn’t get you to sit still to save your life.”

She puts down Thierry and I set Accalia down, letting the twins run around together. I can’t believe they are already three. So much has happened since they were born. I feel bad they will never get to meet their sister, Malayah.

“How is she today mom?”

“No change Derek. The important thing is to stay hopeful and pray to the moon goddess
