Chapter Four

Chapter Four.

Kai

Natasha's face turned pale as Kaleb walked into the room. I tuned out the rest of their words, while I struggled to keep my anger at bay.

Natasha at the Dark Realm Royal Academy?

I pushed off the sofa and walked out of the room. They could kill themselves for all I cared. The hallway was unusually silent, courtesy of the first week of resumption.

I rounded up a corner, and pushed the door open.

“A knock would do, Sir Kai,” Sir Patrick said leisurely, without lifting his head from the book he was reading.

“Take Natasha to another dorm.” I said straightforwardly.

He finally lifted his head.

“And why would I do that?” He countered.

I took a step closer to him, slamming both hands on the table before him. He didn't flinch. I held his gaze as I gritted out the words.

“Switch her dorm. The sight of her irks me.”

“The only alternative is taking her to Dorm Beige.” He said with a sigh.

I scoffed. “So? Isn't the Academy all about training students?” I asked, crossing my arms.

His eyes landed on my wristwatch, letting it linger for a few seconds, before moving it away. Out of instinct, I moved my hand close to my body, and straightened.

“I don't think she'd cause trouble. Why don't you consider it?” Sir Patrick asked carefully.

“I can't promise not to murder her if she gets on my nerves.” And I meant it.

Just then, a loud rumble which shook the foundation of the hall echoed. Sir Patrick sprang up to his feet, panic spreading over his face.

“Another attack?” I growled.

“I’m afraid so. Make sure all students are locked in.” He ordered.

I was already out of his office, before he finished speaking.

Outside, dark clouds were rapidly spreading in the sky. Lightning flashed at intervals, as I hurried along the now bustling hall of students rushing to get into their rooms.

My wristwatch shone brightly.

“Everyone, into their rooms!” I heard Kaleb yell out loudly.

I followed through a path, cursing as I bumped into something.

No.

Someone.

“What the fuck are you doing out here?!” I hissed, anger written over my face.

“I don't appreciate being yelled at.” Natasha retorted, her tone biting.

My eyes burned with anger, as I pulled her into a dark corner.

“I’ll take you back to your room. Stay there until it's safe.” I was supposed to be out there, securing the grounds. And not talking to an ungrateful ninny like the lady before me.

“No.” She snapped.

“No, what?” We were standing close to each other now, her back pressed against the wall. Her scent warped around me.

Cinnamon.

“I won't go back until you tell me what's going on.” And from the defiant look on her face, I knew she meant it.

I grabbed her arms, my nails digging into flesh. “Listen, and listen carefully. You'd do as I say, or get ready to bid your existence goodbye.” I threatened.

Silent fury swirled in her orbs, as she struggled to break free from my hold. I winced, as she attacked me with her powers. I stumbled back.

“Since you wouldn't tell me, I guess I have to find out on my own.” She said, and began walking off.

“Oh, for Lord's sake, Pest,” I snapped, pulling her hand back, and pinning her against the wall.

“Let me go.” Her eyes narrowed into slits.

“You never do as you're told, do you?” I could feel the wristwatch's power, as it began shining again.

Her gaze lowered downwards towards my hand.

“Fuck it,” I groaned, as I leaned in and slammed my lips on hers.
