Chapter 118

The drive became quiet with Frank deep in thought; Nera could tell that her question bothered him too, and maybe if he asked his mother, they would all get the answers they wanted because asking Marcus was not a possibility.

They arrived at the police station and found it packed with Brooke's friends and family. Immediately they saw her, some began looking away and whispering. She could tell they were gossiping about her.

Nera looked away; she could see that she was not wanted, but she wanted to see Brooke and offer her support, or even better, clear her name.

But from the reception she was getting, she doubted if that was possible.

Brooke's lawyer moved forward and asked her to leave. She was not sure if Nera was the snitch but her presence was only agitating everyone.

"Please let me talk to Brooke; she misunderstood everything," Nera pleaded. "Everything is a lie, and I could never hurt her."
