Chapter 50

Greg was left standing, staring at her figure as she disappeared behind the gate, debating to himself and asking whether he heard correctly.

He looked at the driver, who had his fists clenched and was breathing heavily. His reaction was an indication that he did not hear double. Nera just invited him and inquired about his tea preference. She still remembered that part of him.

He quickly snapped out of it and ran after her.

Nera had no intention of inviting him inside the house. She knew how insulting that would be for Marcus, so she led him to the gardens and asked the servants to bring black tea for the guest.

Greg followed her and watched as she took a seat. She noticed he was keeping his distance as if he were scared of her. It was funny in some ways, but she maintained her cool.

"Please take a seat; I will not bite," she joked.

Greg gave out a fake smile and took a seat.

"Thank you; I guess I am just shocked you invited me in," he replied.

"We are both adults, Greg; we moved on
