Chapter 78

Frank could hear his own heart on the verge of bursting out of his chest. Finally, he was able to hear her beautiful voice. He wondered what it would feel like if she lay next to him and whispered in his ears the whole night.

"Hello, is someone there?" Nera asked. She could hear the heavy breathing on the other end of the line. But the person was not saying a word.

Marcus, who had just finished showering, walked out of the bathroom and found Nera on his phone.

"Honey, this person on the phone is not saying anything," she said, walking up to him.

"They kept calling, so I was left with no option but to answer," she explained as she handed the phone to Marcus.

Marcus looked at the phone. "They hang up," he replied, checking through the call logs.

To his shock, it was Frank. He smiled at his wife. "Just some useless contractor demanding for his pay," he replied and threw the phone away.

"Just block them," Nera advised as she walked out of the room.
