Queen Marlena sat at the dining table with Damon and Maisie. There was an awkward silence among them as they ate.

Marlena looked at Maisie, and then at Damon, who looked lost. All he did was eat. He didn’t even bother to look up.

Maisie looked at Marlena and shrugged her shoulders. She wanted the queen to ask questions.

“So Damon… how are things between you and Maisie?” Marlena asked.

Damom raised his head and nodded. “Good. We are having breakfast together. That’s progressive right?” He asked, and Queen Marlena smiled feebly.

“But why does Maisie look sad?” She further asked, and for the first time since they started eating, Damon looked at her.

“I’m not sure, Mother. You can ask her, she’s right in front of you.” Damon answered and continued eating.

“I am fine, my queen. I just feel that the prince doesn’t care about me the way he claims he does.” Maisie answered sadly.
