Chapter 52: No tears

No tears came out of my eyes. Not even a drop. My heart didn't ache. I just walked back to our chamber absent-mindedly.

I picked the sweaters, socks, and caps that I'd knitted and placed them into a bag.

I opened the drawer and picked up the black card Louis gave to me a month ago to shop for our unborn baby's needs.

I tied my hair into a neat ponytail and wore a black mask on my face.

I was still in the same maternity gown I was wearing.

I left our chamber and walked as fast as my leg could take me.

I don't know where I'm going but I think I'm just following how my heart leads me. I didn't take my car with me. I just walked out of the packhouse and flagged down a cab but it had a passenger.

I walked away from the packhouse gate and flagged another cab. It stopped and I got into it.

" Bus stop," I said and he nodded before driving away. I didn't look back, I just place my hands on my belly and rubbed it gently.

" We're here," the driver said and I handed him my card.

" Thank you" he
