Chapter 90

Patricia's life flashed before her eyes as Calhoun's hand holding the sword came whooshing down. She shut her eyes tightly, waiting for the pain. Memories of her childhood, her first love, and her family flooded her mind.

As she opened her eyes, she realized that she was still alive. Calhoun had missed her by inches. She wasn't sure if he had intentionally missed her or if it was a mistake. Either way, she was more than grateful for it.

"Speak," Calhoun growled. She noticed that her hair had grown many inches shorter and Calhoun grabbed the cut part and raised it to her gaze. Patricia was more than stunned. Why did he cut her hair?

"I... I felt bad. She killed George." She stuttered. Calhoun raised his hands again and she began to speak even faster.

"I only wanted to make her sleep a little more. I didn't think it was going to be so lethal. It was given to me by my father-"
