After staying awake for so many hours, it's finally midnight, and Cassie stands up from the bed. She has arranged some of her clothes and tied them up with one cloth earlier in the evening after she was sure that Zoey was asleep. Carefully, she stands up from the bed and tiptoe to where her cloth is, and picking them up, she holds them firmly to herself and takes a deep breath. Glancing back at Zoey who's fast asleep on the bed, her heart hurts badly that she's going to be leaving her dear friend, but does she have a choice? It doesn't seem like she does. Her attention is driven to Milo, who's also fast asleep on the floor, looking so tired. Cats are not deep sleepers, but it's unclear how he has been sleeping without knowing that she is awake. Taking a deep breath again, she wipes the drop of tears that just slid down her cheek. Many questions run through her mind as she stares at her innocent friend. She wonders if she's doing the right thing. Will she regret this later? Will she
Dark Blood Pack Her head hurts as she slowly opens her eyes. The blurry ceiling welcomes her from her deep sleep of a few hours which feels like many years. Letting out a throaty groan, she touches her forehead and shut her eyes again. Her head feels blank, and her body feels so tired as though she was whipped. Seconds slowly tick into minutes, and after another two minutes, she finally forces her eyes open, and this time, she finally gets to see clearly. The ceiling in the room tells her a different story. It doesn't look like she's in her room, the ceiling doesn't also look like that of alpha Damien, and neither does it look like Dean's, so where the hell is she? Slowly, she tilts her head to the side, and that's when it dawns on her that she's in a somewhat dark room, with incense burning around her. She's lying on a mat, but it feels like she's floating in the air. Letting a sharp and terrific gasp tear through her throat, she jerks up to her butt and stares around the place.
"You're backing off now? How dare you! After everything I have done for you? How could you?" Nicolai snaps at alpha Kayden, as he grabs the flower vase from the dresser and throws it across the room. "Can't you get it, Nicolai? I am hurting my daughter, and it doesn't feel right for me to do. All her life, she never got the chance to taste the love of her parents and her brother. You forced me to imprison him and you use me like I'm your toy. I've had enough! Haven't you ruined me enough?" Alpha Kayden laments painfully, running his fingers through his hair, and Nicolai scoffs in disbelief. Has this man forgotten who he is and what he's capable of doing? Has he forgotten that he can bring him down and lead him to his grave with just a little secret? "I dare you to say that again, and I bet you won't live until sunset!" Nicolai dares him, and he turns his face away. All he ever wanted was to be in power and rule the pack, all he ever wanted was to be respected and have people worship
Three days laterBlue Moon Pack It has been three days since the disappearance of Cassie, and alpha Damien hasn't been in his right sense since then. Thinking about the time they spent together, the pain she has been through, and everything, the thought of it hurts him badly. Dean wouldn't stop blaming him for being the reason she disappeared, and he never stopped threatening him. Standing in the garden and staring up at the sky, he sighs for the umpteenth time, wondering where Cassie has been. Is she OK? Who could've captured her? How come nobody knew about it? And how come he felt his body paralyzed that night? Those are the questions he has been asking himself for the past three days, and he hasn't been able to come up with anything. Taking a deep breath, he throws his head back as many thoughts conflict in his mind. Still lost in thoughts, he suddenly feels the presence of someone, and tilting his head to his right-hand side, Kai is standing beside her. "I found a trace..." Ka
"For how long do you plan to do this for Nicolai?" His mouth drops open in shock, and he slowly raises his gaze to look at her, having a shocked expression on his face. How did she know about that? "You're speechless, aren't you? For how long do you plan to do his dirty job? For how long do you want to remain his puppet? Because you're scared? It was all your fault, father! It was your crime... You needed to have owned up to it, why then aren't you brave enough to do that? Because you're scared of what may happen? Did you think about that when you did it?" She asks sarcastically, follow by loud chuckles. "You're a coward, father. You're nothing, but a coward! That's what you are!" She yells at him, and he flinches in fear. His whole body trembles in fear as he stares at her. "Because of him, you have made me and Lucien suffer so much... Because of him, you imprisoned my brother and you're trying to make me do your dirty job... All because you want to please that bastard. Do you hav
Chapter 65"Do you want to hear the bad news?" The corner of his lips slowly twitches into a smirk, as she turns around to face her. Cassie glares hard at her, wondering where this woman is from. Yes, it's obvious that she's a werewolf, but what does she want from her? Why is she doing this to her? Those are the puzzles she has been trying to solve all to no avail. "Not that I care anyway," She scoffs and rolls her eyes, turning her face away, and Helga can't help the dry chuckle that escapes her lips. Easier said than done. Of course, she knows that this little lamb in front of her is just trying to be courageous in front of her, she knows that she cares so much about Damien, and by the time she learns the doom ahead of them, she'll realize that she does really cares. "You'll eventually do, Cassie. Alpha Damien and Dean are on their way here, along with his soldiers..." Helga pauses to observe the shocked expression that suddenly creeps up Cassie's face, and her heart sinks into he
Chapter 66Blood moon pack... "Shit!" Nicolai curses under his breath, slamming his hands on the desk. He has been like this since he got a message that Cassie is now held captive in the Dark blood pack. "I can't send Lydia there, Nicolai. Helga is going to kill her," alpha Kayden panics as he says to Nicolai while praying silently that this doesn't turn the other way round again. He has been his puppy for so long, and at this point, he doesn't want to dance to his tune again, not when he knows that his daughter is going to be in trouble. He has been so cruel to the innocent girl and her brother when all they ever do is obey him, all because he was a coward. Now, he has made up his mind to stand up to his fear, and he doesn't care about whatever comes afterward. "How dare you, Kayden! How dare you say no to me? Have you forgotten everything that I have done for you? Have you...""And I have been trying everything to make sure that I repay you, haven't I? I have been your puppy for
Chapter 67The dark blood pack... Helga sighs for the umpteenth time as she paces restlessly in her chamber. It has been many hours already, and she can't still bring herself to forget about what Cassie told her. Recalling the pain on her face when she was narrating her story to her earlier, she can't help the pain that keeps shooting through her heart uncontrollably. Letting out another brief sigh, she finally sits on the edge of the bed and runs her fingers through her hair in so much confusion. Moments ago, she was waiting for her father to show up so she can finally get what she wants, but now the feeling has changed. She doesn't feel like hurting her again, for some reason which she has no idea of. "Who is she?" She asks herself for the umpteenth time, but too bad that she may never find the answer to her question. Still lost in thoughts, the sound of the knock on the door suddenly pulls her back to reality, and she stares at the closed door for a few seconds, before she fina
