Chapter Sixteen

Her eyes were covered with a blindfold as she was led by her boyfriend. As she followed him, she was conscious of the scent and heat emanating from the candles in the room.

"Where are we, Calvin?" She asked in a voice filled with jitters and anticipation.

"You'll see" he said and left her to be

"Calvin?" She called as she wasn't hearing any movement or sound from him.

"Yes, my darling... here you go" he said and gently removed the blindfold.

An awed gasp escaped from her lips. She was right. Calvin had brought her to a scenting candlelit room. She was thrilled to see beautiful decorations laying around and she wondered why he went through all these for her. Before she could ask him why, he got down on a knee before her and brought out a small box. She gasped again.

"I can't imagine my life without you in it" he began. "Will you be my girlfriend, Amber Trafford?"

Tears blurred her vision and she made to speak but before she could, she felt a sudden wave of chilling breeze on her skin
