The room crackled with tension as their argument swirled, leaving me lost in a fog of confusion. Each word added weight to the air, making it almost palpable.

“I thought you said that it won’t haunt her even more!” Ethan gritted his teeth. His eyes burning with anger.

“I also don’t know! I have been trying my best, but you’re also failing to make her contented!” Eli screamed.

Ethan furiously punched his face as if they were not blood related. I clenched my fists before standing up, “S-Stop hurting each other!”

He continued punching his brother until Eli decided to fight back. I tried to stop them but they weren’t listening to me.

“I thought you said that what you were doing will keep her safe! Look at her now, she is getting weaker!”

“You know that is not my fault! I don’t hold any of the curses she might give to this freaking blood line!”
