ZANE’S POV

“Something strange is going on with Delia’s corpse in the morgue.” was all Khal said when I picked up the call which made me dash out of my office afterward.

I didn't know if Madeline heard it. I didn't put the call on speaker. But she followed me anyway. If there was one thing Madeline was good at, it was sensing when something was wrong.

“What's the problem?” Damien asked when I was about to leave the pack house.

“Something is wrong with Delia’s body at the morgue so I'm going to check it out. Stay in the packhouse in case Maeve wakes up and begins to look for me.” I whispered to him before walking ahead without waiting for his reply.

I got into my car with Madeline and sped off, heading to the town's morgue. I knew this was a bad way for Madeline to find out about the death of the woman who was like a sister to her.

“Where are we headed?” She asked me after minutes of silence in the car.
