ZANE’S POV

“Hey Babe. I don’t understand why you behaved the way you did when Billy video-called you. But I want you to know that if there is anything at all troubling you, you know you can always talk to me,” Maeve's message read.

“She can’t even ask if I slept well or apologize for waking up and not calling me,” I scoffed.

After reading the message, I ignored it.

I knew that she would see that I read the message but didn't reply and that was exactly what I wanted her to know.

I was upset at her and there was no way I was going to hide that fact from her.

The fact that she couldn't figure out the reason why I acted the way I did angered me more.

To me, it was as though she thought what she did was right and that is why her thoughts never went to the fact that she hadn't called me.

The sound of my phone ringing brought me back from my train of thought, and when I saw the caller, I sat upright on my bed.

“Finally,” I exhaled, seeing that it was Damien calling.

I planned on texting him a
