Chapter Fifty Six

Lilith's POV

Day Two

The room is... dark, my heart thumping to its own rhythm as my mind races with every creak and every drip, wondering to the worse possible conclusion.

Despite using my own fire orbs to light the place, no natural light filters in.

I am below ground, the earthy wet smell confirming as much.

Unlike before, I'm all alone. No one is out there for me to mind-link with. No one is there to keep me company.

I try not to panic, and I try to concentrate on the room in front of me.

The trickling water falls down the walls from seemingly nowhere. The damp smell and wet air that I'm breathing in. The mould spores growing fuzzy on the walls living fruititiously off of the damp.

There are gouged marks on the wall beside my face, marks a younger version of myself made when I was being punished in much the same way as I am now.

But back then, I didn't know life could be different. Back then, this was all I knew. The darkness before the light, before Damian's happiness
