Chapter Fifty Nine: Like a deer caught in headlights

"Have your seat." His commanding voice brought me out of my reverie.

I blinked back from my haze and made a shaky walk to the comfortable leather armchair I had eyed earlier.

Luke walked to his huge chair and sat, pinning me with his eyes. Once more, his presence enveloped the room and swallowed me whole.

I had a hard time recollecting what it was I came here for as he stared at me. His gaze was intense and hooded, I had no idea the kind of thoughts running through his mind, and it frustrated me because I knew about what I was thinking, and nothing about what I was thinking was holy.

I looked away from his piercing gaze and focused my attention on the ground as if I only just found the marble floors exquisite and fascinating.

I could still feel his gaze upon me, so I decided to speak, I was the one who requested this audience anyway.

" Did you have one of your men kidnap my roommate?" You would think I know how to keep my mouth from getting me into trouble by now, I don't.
