I was shocked to meet up with the royal procession just at the border between the fire and water kingdoms. Apparently, Miriam had sent her father a message through the water sprites. Whatever she said to them had them and the King and Queen in a tizzy. I was mentally flogging myself for listening to her and leaving her with that sadistic bastard the Fire prince when I felt the king place his hand on my shoulder.
