Elena
"Holy Moly, Lena! Is that Aiden Crooks?" Renee exclaimed as I entered the room.
I nodded then swirled back to Aiden who was in his car.
He had a smirk on his face which meant he had been listening to our conversations.
"I wonder how I would get used to his supernatural abilities," I murmured to myself.
I had read a bit on the history of the Crooks family from the books I had borrowed in his library.
AIDEN I jerked as I felt a twinge on my left side. It was as if someone was tugging at my flesh. Groaning, I clutched my palpitating heart whilst leaning on the round table for support. “What's wrong?” Liam questioned with a raised eyebrow, whilst Kellen and Maya sidled to my side. Sparkles lifted her gaze from her phone to meet mine. Her inquisitive ultramarine orbs stayed on mine for a few seconds before glancing back at her phone. “I'm fine,” I grunted, then beckoned to her to proceed. “If you say so,” Ellen muttered, still watching me from where she stood at the centre of the room. “The number of casualties is increasing every day. Also, Mark told me he notices some humans walking around the territory with weird tattoos on their skins.” I lifted a brow, and she shrugged her shoulders before continuing. “The locals are filled with a lot of rumours lately.” “Rumours about?” I let out whilst five pairs of eyes with different hues gazed at me as if I was dumb. Perhaps, since my
AIDEN As I drove through the almost empty street of Lone Oak- It was named so because people could see only a few people and cars moving in and out of it. It was the loneliest street as far as West Vale was concerned- I occasionally stole glances at Elena; she was mumbling incoherently, and the back of my palm went to her forehead to feel her temperature. Grimacing, I withdrew my hand and then switched on the air-conditioner to cool her heated skin. It was getting worse at the moment, and it was beginning to terrify me. She had been fine yesterday and never showed any sign of fever. Heck, we had even argued, but no sign of her feeling this unwell.Perhaps, she was bitten; I thought to myself. My breath quickened, and with trembling hands, I brushed aside the strands of white hair covering her neck gently whilst searching for any mark. My tensed body relaxed, and I let out a sigh of relief as I found none. Moreover, Elena was still trying to comprehend all that was happening, and I
I had come around to see Aiden's arms wrapped around me. Then I nudged him awake after observing the way he slept for a few moments. I remembered the startled look on his face before it broke out into the boyish grin I now adore. I didn't know how long I had been out exactly, but I was told it was for four days. Also, the only thing I remembered was seeing Aiden's blood-stained neck. Smiling, I shook my head at the memory whilst standing in the middle of the vast room. I took my time to gaze at where I was. Aiden had told me it was his room, and I noticed there wasn't much difference between this and his current house. The brown wallpaper that donned the wall added to the coolness of the room. The curtains were brown and drawn together, and the dim light that brightened the room was from the silver chandelier hung above. The only thing that wasn't present in the other house was the brown vanity beside the king-sized bed, and on it were varieties of skincare products. Aiden never
Elena“Yo!” Liam waved as he yelled from where he stood beside the red Aston Martin that was currently being fixed.“Hey." I grinned, waving back.Liam's face brightened up in his typical lopsided grin before he went back to what he was doing. His unclad body was covered with grease from the car and he was with Aiden, who had no shirt on as well.Aiden's muscles flexed as he tightened the loose bolt on the tyre of the Aston Martin, his toffee brown hair was a bit longer, lustrous, and tousled than ever.My hands clenched into a fist at my side, and I stomped my feet firmly to the ground so as not to embarrass myself by running to touch him. What I felt for Aiden was more than an attraction. It was obvious, though, and my body couldn't stop feeling hot whenever I stared at him.As if he sensed my gaze on him, he lifted his head, and his blue orbs bored into mine.My cheeks reddened, and I glanced away from his scrutiny.Aiden needed to only stare at me with those gorgeous, deep-set eyes
ElenaEllen had helped with my makeup, and I was able to slip into my gown when she was done. I haven't seen what she did on my face since she had covered all the mirrors beforehand. I fidgeted and tugged at the rhinestone on the bodice of my dress as she led me to the mirror.I was way too scared of what I would look like if I eventually saw my face.My hand lifted to touch my hair, but she slapped it away.Ellen glared at me playfully before yelling,“Tada!” I lurched at the abruptness, and she beamed whilst tugging the clothes that covered the mirror away.My jaw slackened as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The person staring back at me didn't look anything like me. “How is it?” She lifted a slender brow as her eyes met mine in the mirror.“How is it?” I echoed back her question.Ellen had done a great job with my face because I looked as though I was a fairy tale princess. The princess I had always wanted to become without being tagged a bastard with it, a normal princ
ELENAThe night stretched by and the event was now in full swing. I got to meet almost every aristocratic family present in West Vale. Also, I knew some already from the parties I often frequent in East Vale. Moreover, my family was not left out of this meeting. My father and stepbrother were quite happy to see me whilst my step sisters and mom were as neutral as ever. They pretended I didn't exist which I didn't mind because it had been that way ever since I knew them.Everything was going fine until someone bumped into me. I stumbled and gripped a pillar closed by to stop my fall for the second time tonight. I shivered at the coolness of the body and I stared at his retreating figure.“S.O.B," I mumbled under my breath. My breath hitched as I saw him halted in his tracks. Perhaps, he was another werewolf or Vampire- those were the two supernatural beings that I knew could hear thoughts or read minds.I emitted a disappointed sigh as he didn't turn, rather he continued walking toward
ElenaStepping into the bedroom, I decided to retire for the night after witnessing the non-stop bickering between Sparkles and Liam. I sighed as I donned the nighties I had picked out whilst shopping last week, but it looks as though I was going to sleep on the bed alone, without Aiden. Aiden wasn't home yet from the hunt they had gone on, for reasons best known to him. I had been overjoyed to see Liam walk through the door, only to be disheartened when he said Aiden was staying over for a day.I stepped to where Gemma's cot used to be, it had been moved to Callista's room after the night I had dinner with them, and it was my idea since she was her grandmother and the caretaker of the park. So, it only made sense if she had Gemma in her care. Gemma, I had learnt, was a rare breed from Aiden. She had a werewolf and a witch side since her birth mother was the latter. They were known as hybrids due to the presence of different supernatural genes in their body. Also, hybrids were known
Aiden“Get a hold of yourself Sparkles, and stop blaming Elena for this because she did nothing wrong. Ever since she came into this house, I don't know the reason you loathe her so much." I chided, staring at an enraged Sparkles who looked as though she would rip Elena's head off if she was here.”She caused this!” Her first clenched as she yammered.“She didn't!” I thundered. I pinched the bridge of my nose as I tried to calm my nerves.“Before this, ” I stated calmly, my eyes still on her. “You've always been mad at her. I saw the stunt you pulled on her at the founder's ball, I decided to let it slide. This is so unlike you and you need to apologize to her.”Sparkles jutted her chin out, a pair of aquamarine orbs fixated on mine defiantly and she gritted her teeth, “I'll rather pummel her pretty face than apologize.”I let out a deep breath whilst shaking my head at her hardheadedness. I knew it wasn't going to be this easy to get her to apologize. But, I knew she would do it event
