I caught her in my arms as she fell unconscious. Panic rose in me, seeing her lifeless body crumple in front of me, but I could see her still breathing. She must have used up all of her strength and energy, healing my father. 

I looked up at him and saw he was still limping, but his wounds were mostly closed and I knew he would survive. As much as that relieved me, I was now concerned about El and the hundreds of eyes that just witnessed what she did.

Our healer, Cedrick, quickly rushes to the alpha. You could tell my father had expended all of his energy and he finally gave up the small task of standing and plopped back in the grass. Cedrick looked him over before giving a small nod to my mother.
