Chapter 36

Gwen felt a strange queasy feeling in the pit of her stomach, and she had the bewildering impression that she was travelling through time and space at a quick pace.

They arrived at Bondurant just a few moments later.

Gwen observed as she looked about the now-familiar room that she was staying in, "This place is starting to feel like home."

“Yeah.” After placing Gwen's suitcase inside the closet, Phil drew her into his arms and kissed her forehead. He was horrified at the prospect of her returning there, but there was no use in harping on it any further. She was able to empathize with him.

"When the pack runs, it'll probably be too late."

Phil remarked, "I'll look for you somewhere in the hills near the river," and he intended to do so. If her father were to succeed in getting her back into the compound, it was impossible to say when or if she would ever be able to leave it again. At least he didn't have to be concerned with Raquel trying to track them down this time.
