Sia’s eyes shone with excitement as she woke up early in the morning. Today was her 18th Birthday. She couldn’t wait to see the surprise Uncle Roy had planned for her.
He always came up with something unique. She was never able to guess it. Sia resolved to break this record today and went in Search of Uncle Roy.
She was about to wear her slippers but she decided against it. She didn’t want to warn her uncle about her arrival.
She took a tour of the bedrooms, the hall, the art room, and
The leaves sparkled in the morning sunlight. The sweet twittering of the birds was like honey to the ears. Colorful butterflies flitted from flower to flower. It was as if the creator had decided to paint the most joyful picture today. Sia looked at everything with admiration but she couldn’t feel joy. She tried, she really did, but everything seemed so meaningless. She trudged through the forest aimlessly. After a while, her path was obstructed by a ribbon. It was tied to cordon off the prohibited area. Her uncle had been kidnapped a few meters from here. Hence, people were not allowed to venture beyond that line.
Sia found herself on her bed when she woke up. Panic seized her when she recalled the scene she had seen. She looked around and tried to get up. Her feet got caught in the sheets and she was about to fall but Sam caught her. He made her sit on the bed and hugged her tightly. He kept rubbing the small of her back as and kept repeating, “Don’t panic, everything will be alright.” Sia pushed him away. looking at him she said, “How?” The grief in her eyes pierced straight through Sam’s heart. He had no reply to that question. H
“Sia, you shouldn’t have come inside while Mr. Roy’s body was still lying on the terrace. How could you? If you had stayed you could have seen what the kidnappers had done to him.” This caught her attention. Her head snapped towards him and she looked at him with questioning eyes. “His body was covered with gashes that were partially healed and many other scars too.”“What kind of scars, Sam?” She asked.
Sam felt restless the whole afternoon. His thoughts lingering on Sia. He wasn’t even able to eat his lunch properly. By the time it was evening his feet moved towards Sia’s house on their own accord. He wanted to check if she was alright. He was surprised to see that the main door was still ajar. He hoped that she was alright. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he saw her heat the clamps on the stove. His brain was incapable of coming up with an explanation for the same. The sleeve of the sweater on her left hand was rolled up to her elbows ex
“Sam….Sam….. please don’t do this. I have realized my mistake. I was behaving like a crazed idiot.” Sia ranted with pleading eyes. Sam looked at her with raised eyebrows in reply. “Okay…. I promise I won’t try anything foolish….ever again….Will that be enough?” Sia looked at him expectantly. She really hoped that he would give up. If Sam
Sia tried to shield her face with her hands but the intense sunlight was very uncomfortable. She tossed and turned but the sun was hot and she couldn’t continue sleeping. She woke up and rubbed her eyes. She looked towards the couch but instead of Sam, she found Myra sitting on the couch. “So our princess has finally woken up,” Myra said with a smile. “Where is Sam?” “Was he supposed to be here?” Myra asked
She started pacing around the room but that made her feel more restless. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, she sat at the desk. Her favorite book ‘Survival’ was still lying on the table. Her lips stretched in a smile as she ran her fingers over it. She found her escape from anxiety in it, as usual.Suddenly, she felt as if something was pulling her towards it. She looked up from the book but there was no one. She didn’t get time to ponder about that sensation as people started coming in.She was very distracted the whole day. Her min
What kind of place was this? She wondered if everything that came to her mind would emerge in front of her. She heard a rumble. It took her a while to realize that the sounds were coming from her stomach. She hadn’t eaten anything after breakfast. She shrieked when a plate of pasta and a glass of water emerged in front of her. Her eyes popped out of the sockets when she realized that they were floating in the air. How was that possible? How could a plate levitate in the air without any support?
