Chapter 22 - Proximity

“You’re staring.” Ryo says, looking at me shyly. I smile and look away to give a second but that only lasts a little while. I can’t keep my eyes off her. I’m drawn to her in a way I never thought I would be. It's like she has a hold on me.

“Am I making you uncomfortable?” I ask, smiling, I know she’s feeling overwhelmed. I know it’s going to take a while for her to get used to us being together. In the time we’ve spent together, I’ve learned a lot about her. Like how it takes her a long, ;long time to get used to change.

“Not uncomfortable, just really close.” She says, smiling shyly. I can tell she wants to say more but she’s holding back. She’s been keeping herself at arms length since we got here.
